Today I took the bus to Cheonbu and walked a ridiculously long and steep road to get to the Seokpo-Naesujeong (old road) trail. I'm pretty exhausted right now, and I'm going to go get a burger for dinner (there's actually a burger place on this tiny island!). Something curious I stumbled upon the other day: I went to a restaurant that had "Mexican" in the title, and all they actually had was chicken...I believe this to be true of other "Mexican" restaurants on this island, if not in most of South Korea.
Something in Asteraceae, not in the mood to ID right now
Beetle
Rodgersia pseudoacacia
Scrophularia takesimense
Squid Festival!
Phytolacca insularis
Boehmeria spicata
I don't really know what that is but it's pretty cool
One of my problem plants - Hibiscus syriacus (no better feeling than identifying a difficult plant, not that it was particularly difficult, it just didn't have any flowers the first couple weeks I tried to identify it)
Are they kidding? I actually tried to learn fern life cycles in a class and I still don't have a clue.
Nice pic of Pueraria thunbergiana

Hi, I am studying your blog because I plan to go to Ullueng-do. Good work! I think that there is one mistake here:
ReplyDeleteyou wrote "Rodgersia pseudoacacia" and should be "Robinia..."
