July 12

Today was a long day that ended very confusingly.
I started out hiking up to Songinbong, again, and took a little detour that dropped me at the bottom of a bunch of switchbacks I had just done (not cool).  Then I headed down to Nari basin and took a side trail that led to the peak of a different mountain, which was pretty cool but a hell of a hike to get up there.  Then I took the bus from Nari and then from Cheonbu back.
The confusing part of my day was when the bus was just getting into Dodong and I saw a car with a National Geographic decal on it.  I don't know if it actually was National Geographic or what, or what they're doing on Ulleungdo, or how I should feel about that.

Carpesium abrotanoides

Mitchella undulata, very cool

There was actually a violet left blooming! I might go ahead and call this one Viola takesimense because all the others stop blooming in May

Hyeongje Mountain

Some cool fungi

The Japanese Red Pines in Nari show pretty well why they're given that name: the bark turns noticably red with age
