July 26

The other day I finally went to the arboretum/garden on the island and had a chance to see a few of the endemic species I have yet to see despite my wanderings. These species must be very rare or in unreachable places in the wild. Anyways, it was wonderful, and I always love going to arboretums.

Cotoneaster wilsonii (endemic)

Asplenium scolopendrium sori

Liriope platyphylla

Pollia japonica

Salix ishidoyana (endemic)

Physocarpus insularis (endemic) - a type of ninebark

Vitex rotundifolia

Abelia insularis (endemic)

Bupleurum latissimum (endemic)
