I started the day out in Namyang (which is a very nice little town on the southern shore) and took the road up to a trail that took me to Taeha. The trailhead was marked very well, but you wouldn't think it a trailhead as it's fairly overgrown and barely navigable. Once you get past the first 50 meters or so, it turns into a real trail, and rather like the old road trekking course, it had a bunch of signs about the ecology of the area. Some of the same signs in fact. It was a nice little hike that took me to a road that goes to Taeha, whereupon it started raining on me. My camera doesn't like the rain and sort of froze, so when I got to Taeha I was quite disappointed that I could not take pictures of the sandpipers I saw there. Oh well.
In other news, I've been spending some time with my dichotomous key recently as well as my descriptions of plants I've seen, so there's been a little less field time. Also the weather's been taking a turn towards stormy, so there's that too.
Some very large ducks, probably domesticated
Trifolium dubium
Adeonphora remotiflora
White Wagtail
Clinopodium chinense
Geranium thunbergii (I have to think about this one a bit, some of the species look really similar)
Geum japonicum - these always trip me up because they look like buttercups except the petals and stamens are a bit different
Clematis apiifolia
Agrimonia pilosella
A sign about old growth vs. forest created by humans after being clearcut
